ULTRASOUND GUIDED NEEDLE BIOPSY

At Breast Care Specialists of Carolina, PLLC, we strive to ensure that any worrisome breast mass, lump, or abnormality seen on imaging (mammogram, ultrasound and MRI) or examination be promptly identified and sampled (biopsied) during your first office visit, if indicated. We utilize ultrasound in the office to help identify cysts as well as solid masses that are potentially suspicious. We offer in office ultrasound guided breast biopsy to ensure that the area of interest is targeted and samples are obtained for a timely and accurate result. Ultrasound is also used to assist with aspiration of fluid filled masses such as cysts or breast abscesses. We strive to avoid open operations for diagnosis as the standard of care is now percutaneous guided breast biopsy (which utilizes ultrasound, mammography, or MRI guidance).
